Dear Parents,

    Welcome to kindergarten!  My name is Heather Nix and I am very excited to by your child's teacher.  I am 35 years old and this will be my 13th year teaching kindergarten!  Kindergarten is a big transition and "a different world" from their pre-k classroom.  I will strive to make the transition easy for your child and you. 

    I love my job!  School is fun for me and I work hard to make your child's learning experience a  fun and exciting one.   I am dedicated to provide a warm, loving, and accepting environment for your  child to learn in.  I believe that every child has the potential to reach goals thought unreachable.  With your help we will do just that!  I teach them to believe in themselves and the power they hold within.  Your child will make new friends, laugh often and work hard to reach our goals.  I promise to always consider what is best for your child.

    I have an open door policy and will need your help making your child's year the best it can be.  YOU are the greatest teacher you child will ever have.  I will need your advice, support, input, and ideas.  I hope to see you in our classroom as much as possible.  Let's work together - you and I both have your child's best interests at heart.
