Saxon Math

Saxon Math is the basis for Math education at our school.  The program consists of three parts: a Meeting board section;  a facts practice section; and a Lesson section.

Each day students meet to reinforce skills such as calendar, place value, skip counting, money, etc. at the Math Meeting board.  They then have a timed practice on facts beginning with addition, and covering subtraction and multiplication.  Timed tests are given every five lessons on facts.   The lesson varies daily, but always includes a worksheet component with class work on the front and homework on the back.  Homework should be checked and signed by the parent, and returned in the homework folder.
